As a small community hospital, it is important to us that we ensure the highest level of accessibility for all of our patients and visitors. We want to provide the means for every person to have equal access to our facility and the services we provide. This is why we have developed a multi-year accessibility plan to outline how we are creating an accessible environment for all persons, disabled or not.
Our plan defines accessibility at SHHA and encompasses everything from infrastructure to information. We have identified barriers, and provided the means to overcome them. We have created policies to address the needs of specific disabilities. We have developed educational requirements for our employees to ensure they are well-equipped to help those with special needs. It is our goal to not only provide an accessible environment now, but to ensure we will continue to do so into the future.

At SHHA we consider the needs of all persons when developing our public documents and communicating to our patients. We understand that some people have disabilities that require the need for alternative formatting, in both information and communications. If you require an alternative format in order to access any of our information or communications we would be happy to provide it for you. This may include providing you with a large-print copy of a document, or even reading a communication to you. Whatever assistance you may need to access any of our public information and communications, we will be happy to provide.
