Information Technology

Information Technology (I.T.) plays a very important role in patient care and the ongoing functionality of the facility. A significant percentage of the building infrastructure is computer based which includes areas such as security, telephones and HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) units.

Working closely with other healthcare providers and as a member of the Regional Shared Services (RSS), the I.T. Department supports the Electronic Patient Record (EPR) and Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) to ensure the flow of information within the patient’s "circle of care."

The I.T. department also collaborates with regional partners to assess, acquire and implement new technology and maximize security.

Through the Regional Help Desk Support, the I.T. department ensures minimal end-user downtime while providing for the installation and maintenance of all hardware, software, printers, servers and network equipment.
