Regular Placements
Volunteers participating in our regular program are committing to the initial 125 hour placement, and completing this through 3-4 hour weekly placement. We are also willing to work with volunteers (under special circumstances) who wish to complete their regular placement in a shorter amount of time, or those who need more flexible schedules in order to complete their 125 hour commitment.
Student Placements
Volunteers enrolled in high school, college or university programs are asked to commit to 70 hours, expected to be completed throughout the academic year or over the course of the summer months. Because of the nature of secondary school schedules, most of our student placements will be given to post-secondary volunteer candidates. However, do not hesitate to apply if you are a secondary school student. There are considerations given to every application and candidate circumstance.
Co–op Placements
Our co-op placements are aimed at secondary school students wishing to complete their one-semester co-op in the public health sector. The program is based on half-day placements over the course of one semester in order to complete the program’s required hours. For most secondary school programs this is around 190 hours and is completed over the course of 12 -16 weeks. Please contact your co-op advisor as early as possible. Placements are limited and student demand for them is high.
