About the South Huron Hospital:
We serve the Municipality of South Huron and its adjacent communities- a catchment area of approximately 19,000 residents. The hospital is located in the village of Exeter, approximately 30 minutes north of London and provides 24/7 emergency services in addition to acute, rehabilitation and complex continuing care inpatient services and various diagnostic and ambulatory services. Our staff also supports family practice and walk-in care at the South Huron Medical Centre. As a small rural hospital, we cherish the relationship we have with our community and pledge uncompromising standards to those we serve.
Position Summary:
The position of Medical Radiation Technologist is responsible for the upstream implementation, preparation, working with and processing of radiology exams to produce high quality studies for interpretation by Radiologist both on and off site.
Responsibilities:
- Operation of radiological and accessory equipment requiring minimum supervision, independent judgement, ingenuity, and initiative
- Understanding and consistent priority of safe patient care
- Organizaing work, setting priorities, managing time effectively and producing accurate results while working autonomously or as a team player
- Problem recognition and problem-solving duties
- Superior interpersonal verbal and non-verbal communication skills for patient and team member interactions
- Evidence of commitment to continuing education to meet professional accreditation guidelines
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an approved training program in radiology and current registration in good standing with the CMRITO
- Must have the knowledge, skills and judgment as identified in the CMRITO Standards of Practice to perform the services and procedures that fall within the scope of practice of the profession
- As sound understanding of anatomical positioning and physiology to optimize imaging results
- 2 years' experience, preferable in a hospital environment with ongoing mentorship by Canadian certified and licensed radiologists
- Demonstrated competency in all aspects of general radiology
- Experience with One Chart and Agfa PACS software suites considered a strong asset
- Demonstrated success in customer-focused work, teamwork, communication skills, and accountability
- Understanding and demonstrated use of good body mechanics
- Current Police Check/Vulnerable Sector Screen and immunization status required upon hire.
Immunization Records: Successful candidates must provide evidence of fully completed COVID-19 vaccination status prior to your first day of work. Any candidate entering the facility to attend an interview will be required to provide evidence of a fully completed COVID-19 vaccination status. To be considered fully immunized, individuals need to have received their second dose of a COVID-19 vaccine at least 14 days earlier than the date they arriving to an interview or to begin work at SHHA.
